Serial ATA is the designation for a computer bus used to connect high-capacity devices - HDD and SSD disks. Nowadays, SATA revision 3.0 (SATA 6 Gb/s) is used. It offers a data throughput of up to 600 MB/s. SATA uses the older AHCI interface for communication, which is, however, sufficient and the most widespread.

This directly affects the speed of the disk and, of course, its price. Nowadays, hard drives are increasingly being replaced by SSD solutions.
